From exploring ways of generating inspiration to experimenting with development of motives or even just changing arrangements to create new textures to lighter or more dramatic sounds, Mike's composition lessons will inspire you. They are always taught on a one-to-one basis so all of the time is focused on you and your music.

There are many ways to compose music and finding a start can be challenging. For those times when you don't have even the beginning of a song Mike can give you ideas to start you off.

Mike M.Mus., BA(Hons) specialised in composition and performance during his first music degree. During his studies he won the Canterbury Festival Composer's Prize (2001) and worked as Composer-In-Residence for the Sounds New Festival.

Mike has also given composition lessons privately and in school, exploring classical and rock genres.
